In line with the growing global emphasis on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) standards and heightened societal expectations for corporate ethics, OCI Group has recently announced the launch of its “One-Strike Out” policy, a new measure designed to reinforce ethical conduct across the organisation.

For decades, OCI Holdings has been recognised for its transparent and ethical corporate culture. However, with societal standards of ethical conduct evolving rapidly, the company is taking proactive steps to ensure it continues to uphold the highest standards of integrity and accountability. “As times change, so do the standards of what is considered ethical in business and society. “This policy reaffirms our commitment to strengthening ethical management and sustaining the trust and respect of our stakeholders," said CEO of OCI Holdings Kim YooShin. OCI Holdings wholly owns OCI TerraSus which produces solar-grade polysilicon with its plant located at Samalaju Industrial Park in Bintulu, Sarawak. The “One-Strike Out” policy takes a zero-tolerance stance on five major categories of misconduct: ⦁ Damage to company reputation ⦁ Acceptance of improper benefits ⦁ Misuse of company assets ⦁ Sexual harassment ⦁ Workplace harassment Any employee, whether full-time or contract staff found engaging in these violations will face strict disciplinary action, including suspension, demotion or dismissal. The policy also extends accountability to individuals who enable or fail to manage such misconduct. As part of this initiative, OCI Holdings will roll out Ethics Awareness Training for all employees beginning September this year. The program will use practical, real-life scenarios to help employees recognise behaviors that may unintentionally harm colleagues or compromise organisational ethics. The new framework is aimed not only at enforcing discipline but also at fostering a workplace culture rooted in respect, inclusivity and integrity. "Employees are encouraged to reflect on their daily interactions, even casual jokes or remarks to ensure they align with modern standards of ethical conduct. “With this policy and training, we are taking meaningful steps to cultivate a culture of accountability and respect. “By working together, we will ensure OCI Group remains a trusted and respected company in society," said Kim.
