OCI M Sdn Bhd has been awarded the prestigious gold award in the large enterprise category at the 11th Premier of Sarawak Environmental Award 2023/2024. OCI M Senior Director and Head of Sustainability, Dr Kim SooYeon and General Manager of Safety, Health and Environment, Oh Chang Woo received the award from Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah bin Ali Hasan at the award ceremony held on Wednesday evening at a leading hotel here.

Dr Kim said the award recognized OCI M’s continued commitment and dedication to sustainability and the environment. “We are honored to receive this award, which reinforces our commitment to sustainable business practices. “This recognition not only celebrates our efforts to reduce environmental impact but also motivates us to continue innovating and aligning with Malaysia's leading standards recognized globally, as we strive to become a pioneer and leader in sustainability across SouthEast Asia,” said Dr. Kim. The award, she added, was a testament to the company’s ongoing initiatives and contributions to a greener future. Present at the award ceremony graced by the Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Bin Tun Abang Haji Openg were OCI Holdings chairman Lee Woo-Hyun and OCI M chief executive officer Dato Dr Anas Alam Faizli. OCI M is a wholly owned subsidiary company of OCI Holdings in South Korea, specializing in the production of high-purity solar-grade polysilicon with an annual production capacity of 35,000 tons in the manufacture of silicon wafers and photovoltaic cells.
